Spring Break

April 20, 2015

This is the first year we’ve ever really done Spring Break.

(Partially because we’ve never had to wait for a particular week, but I digress…)

We spent time first with my nieces and I’m sure we took pictures, but for some reason, I couldn’t find any.  😦

Then we went to see Grandpa & Grandma2.

This is where they live.

And so got to go out and do this.

All the older kids loved it.  Super Man got to take a nap.

One day, Handsome Hubby took some time to take the older ones canoeing.  They loved that too!

Since we were in Florida, they said to be careful of Alligators.

They didn’t see any.

I was disappointed.

Sort of.

I think I have this shot with every child.

Super Man love, love, loves water!

Handsome Hubby sat down with him near the waves while they played in the water.  He went to move him from a large wave and he had a fit!

There was a rip tide warning that day, so the kids didn’t get to go swimming in the ocean.  We warned them not to go too far in and for the most part had fun running in and out of the waves as they came on shore.  E-Man, however, decided to see just how close to the line he could get.  A big wave knocked him over and went over top of him.  He stayed closer after that.

We did get to go swimming in the marina swimming pool.

I love this shot because it says so much about this trip to the pool.  Super Man loved the pool and playing in the water, no matter where Handsome Hubby took him.  Princess practiced her swimming and played with Grandpa.  C.J. was all over the place.  And E-Man, probably because of earlier getting dunked by the wave, was afraid to go any further than the steps and have his head go under the water, even with the life jacket & pool noodle.  Handsome Hubby would hold him, life jacket and all, and take him no more than two feet from the stairs and he’d start screaming.  So we didn’t push it this trip.

Here we go!

April 20, 2015

Ok.  So, I may be a little premature.

But, I wanted to start our “Wild, Crazy Adventure” off before we even leave anywhere.

Which we have.

But we haven’t.

About 2 months ago my brother (who is doing awesome since his wreck, by the way) and his wife decided to move their family to Florida.

So we had a decision to make.

Stay or move.

We chose to do both!

We upgraded our camper and moved into it.

That was a month ago.

Since then we’ve been to Amicalola Falls Campground.

Which has a story in to itself…

Amicalola Falls is on a mountain.

It’s also the name of a waterfall.

In order to get up to the campground, you need to drive up a road with a 25% grade.

Which is fun in a car.

Not so much with a camper attached.

We about burned the engine up.

As much as I liked it there, we won’t be back.

Only because of our camper being too heavy for our car to be able to do that again.

Otherwise, it’s absolutely gorgeous there!

Then we tried out Twin Lakes RV Park.

And officially became “live-aboards” as some people call it.

Why now you ask?

We actually used our bathtub!

I know, I know… but really, when you’re okay with taking a bath in something a little bigger than the kitchen sink, you can officially become a full time RVer…

Or something…

Anyway, the park was ok, but wasn’t our favorite.

It was during our stay here that Handsome Hubby took Princess to the Father/Daughter dance.

Princess was so excited to go!  Not only to go with Handsome Hubby, but that she got to have her picture taken with her teacher!  I’m so glad she loves her teacher as the year got off to a rocky start, mostly because she wasn’t used to public school.  I’ve learned a lot from her teacher to be able to teach her better this next year.  So thanks, Mr. Jordan!

In between this campground and the next, we went to Florida, but I’ll save that for another post.  🙂

Now, we’re at Bolding Mill Campground and so far, I think it’s our favorite!  I like that it has some secluded like spots which is what I liked about Amicalola Falls.

The down side is that it’s been raining almost nonstop since we’ve been here.

But we’ll be here a while yet.

May God bless your socks off as he has ours!
