Because we were going out of town, we celebrated Caleb’s birthday early. When I asked Caleb what he wanted for his birthday, he said cinnamon rolls, cake and candles with fire. (Yes, he was that specific!)
So, two days before his birthday, I made cinnamon rolls (just the tube kind, I wanted as much sleep as possible, thank you very much). Then, to be fun, I put candles in it and Hannah and I sang “Happy Birthday” to him. Caleb got to be the leader everywhere we went that day.
While supper was cooking we gave Caleb his first present. A spiderman scooter. We’ve learned that it’s not how much you spend on them or the amount of toys as long as it’s what they really want. It also helps if it’s something you can do with them. This scooter we got second-hand for 5$, but he loves it and doesn’t care that there’s a little wear.
Then, for supper we had macaroni and cheese and french fries, via Caleb’s request.
After supper Caleb got to open his presents. A box of random legos from Mommy & Daddy, lego people from big sister and fruit snacks from little brother. I try to encourage them to get gifts for each-other and to use their own money. (Obviously Ethan had help as he doesn’t get an allowance yet.)
We also got him a chocolate cake with chocolate ice cream. Can you guess who my chocoholic in training is?
My little boy is no longer a toddler, but a preschooler and a big bundle of energy that keeps me on my toes. My 3 year old.
May God bless your socks off!
